John Kasich says he will drop out if he loses Ohio

Ohio Gov. John Kasich talked about the future of his presidential campaign during an appearance on  Meet the Press to be broadcast at 9 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.

Host Chuck Todd asked about a New York Times report that 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney talked to Kasich about leaving the race.

Rhine McLin and Tom Young named to Montgomery Co. BOE

Democrat Rhine McLin has been reappointed to her seat on the Montgomery County Board of Elections and Republican Tom Young was appointed to replace Greg Gantt, according to Joshua Eck, spokesman for Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted.

Both were recommended by their county parties and sworn in by Husted on Friday.

McLin, former Dayton mayor and state legislator, overcame an intra-party challenge to win the party endorsement. She  is vice chairwoman

U.S. Attorney Carter M. Stewart resigns

United States Attorney General Carter M. Stewart announced his resignation Friday afternoon, saying he would leave his Southern District of Ohio post on March 11 to take a job at a Columbus-area non-profit/foundation.

Stewart, 46, of Gahanna, became U.S. attorney in 2009.
