Rossford, Ohio resident Sharon Belkofer took the stage with a smart and self-aware, “You are probably wondering who this  sweet old lady is.”

Her son Tim was a Lt. Colonel in the Army and killed six years ago. She mentioned meeting  Obama the first time and crying the first time. She was at an event hoping  to get an autograph, and was told, ‘the president wants to see you, and I got my second presidential hug.’

She was inspired and at 73 she ran for her local schoolboard. I was tired, I didn’t want to knock on doors. “I thought of my president, he never gives up. Why should I give up?”

She won her election, and says she won big. She later received a note from Obama of congratulations.

“Some people in this world make big differences. My son Tom made them, the president does as well. Even smaller ones, like the one afford to me.”

“I wish every American could hug President Obama so they can see the good in his eyes and feel the warmth in his heart. This is our president.”

This led to a video, highlighting the issues Obama faced when he started his presidency.
