Kasich Tweets criticism of Trump riot remark

Ohio Gov. John Kasich went on Twitter on Thursday to criticize remarks by Republican presidential front runner Donald J. Trump that his supporters would “riot” if Trump is denied the nomination.

Kasich, who beat Trump in Ohio’s GOP presidential primary on Tuesday, is running third behind U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. In his Tweet Kasich said Trump’s remarks were “more unacceptable language.”

On Wednesday Trump told CNN that his supporters would revolt if the party has a brokered convention in Cleveland this summer and keeps him from becoming the nominee.

“I think you’d have riots. I think you’d have riots,” Trump said in his appearance on CNN’s New Day. “I’m representing a tremendous many, many millions of people.”

Kaisch has said he is unsure whether he could support Trump if he is the nominee.

Kasich “has sought to strike a positive tone throughout his presidential campaign, but this week said that this campaign would spend more time challenging Trump,” according to a news release issued Thursday afternoon by the campaign.
