Donald Trump turns to Twitter to take on media

After his second place finish in the Republican Iowa Caucus on Monday, Donald Trump turned to Twitter Tuesday to take on the media, try to say he still won by coming in 2nd, and stamp down the momentum that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio feel from their performances.

Second is where I expected Trump to fall. Iowa is known as a strong state for evangelical Republicans and Cruz had an edge there. Mike Huckabee won there in 2008, Rick Santorum won in 2012 largely because of evangelicals. For Trump, it was probably good that Ben Carson, Huckabee and Santorum were still in the race because they may have pulled some evangelical votes from Cruz.

Cruz won Iowa with 28 percent of the vote. Trump had 24 percent and Rubio had 23 percent.

But to put things in perspective, the difference between Cruz and Trump was only 6,239. That’s roughly the population of the Dayton suburb of Moraine.

Think about that for a second.
