Republican John Kasich, who is expected to announce his presidential campaign in July, will visit Iowa on June 24 where he’s scheduled to speak to in Des Moines and make other stops, according to New Day for America, a non-profit group supporting Kasich.
It’ll be Kasich’s first trip to Iowa, which holds its GOP caucus vote on Feb. 2. Iowa is the first sate to take a vote on presidential candidates.
Kasich is making a return trip to New Hampshire on Thursday and Friday of this week to speak at a business roundtable in Plymouth and at a county dinner in Lebanon.
Kasich has been traveling to early primary states and elsewhere in preparation for a possible presidential run. He has said he has the backing of his family and will run if he believes he has a shot at it.
